Your Role
As a Project Manager (CLS), you will oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and final completion of surveying projects, ensuring strict compliance with all relevant laws, standards, legislation, and regulations.
Your duties will include, but is not limited to:
- Planning, scheduling and managing project timelines, resource allocation, projects tasks.
- Overseeing the creation of client deliverables and contributing to the development of methodologies and procedures for conducting various types of surveys.
- Ensuring that appropriate margins are maintained, project by project and client by client.
- Review survey plans for completeness & accuracy using Caltech & industry standards of practice; including applicable provincial land surveying Acts, Manual of Standard Practice & industry licensing requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with current and potential clients.
- Attending client meetings to understand their needs, presenting project proposals, and discussing potential business opportunities.
- Attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and partners.
- Assisting with RFPs and bids.
Your Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in geomatics engineering or survey engineering or equivalent education.
- Commissioned as a Canada Land Surveyor
- Provincial commission in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, or British Columbia.
- Extensive project management experience in the surveying industry.
- Strong attention to detail ability to ensure drawings conform to specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret information from survey plans, maps, field notes, and typical job set-up search results.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements of upstream oil and gas related survey work.
- Ability to effectively transition survey and plan information into digital and/or paper survey plans and as built deliverables.
- Comfortable with the use of technology to improve processes.
- Strong ability to multitask and change priorities when needed.
- Ability to identify and set priorities and possess effective time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commitment to excellence, customer service and professional development.
- Entrepreneurial spirit along with the ability to seek out and develop new business relationships.
- Excellent leadership skills including the ability to coach, discipline and mentor employees.
