    Co-op CAD Technician

    Kickstart Your Career in Drafting!

    Looking for a career in land surveying industry that teaches you valuable technical skills? Join our team as a Co-op CAD Technician and gain hands-on experience in drafting. This is a paid Co-op placement from January to April 2026 and a great opportunity to learn from industry professionals!

    What You’ll Do

    • Interpret field notes, sketches, legal plans, air photos, and digital data.
    • Complete survey computations including GPS, conventional data processing and calculations.
    • Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
    • Prepare plans to be submitted to the Land Registry Office and Sustainable Resources Development.
    • Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
    • Complete general mapping and drafting duties including CAD and ArcGIS mapping.

    What You’ll Learn

    • AutoCAD, Civil 3-D and/or Microsurvey coordinate calculation software
    • Survey data processing
    • ESRI ArcGIS Software
    • Western Canada Township setup (DLS)
    • Field survey and traversing
    • Requirements for plan submissions to ISC and/or Sustainable Resource Development
    • Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in real-world conditions

    What You Bring

    • Currently enrolled in Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering Design or related programs.
    • Strong willingness to learn AutoCAD, Civil 3-D and/or Microsurvey coordinate calculation software.
    • Strong willingness to learn processing survey data.
    • Ability to set priorities and possess effective time management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • A positive attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
