Outstanding Results for Caltech in the External COR Audit

We are excited to announce that Caltech has achieved an impressive 98% score in this year’s external Energy Safety Canada audit, highlighting our exemplary health and safety program.
At Caltech, we believe that a successful safety program requires the collaborative effort of all employees who integrate health and safety principles into their daily tasks, both in the field and in the office. The last external Energy Safety Canada COR audit in 2022 yielded great results, but this year we have surpassed them. The audit, conducted over three weeks, included a thorough review of our HSE program documentation, site visits to our offices in Regina, Brandon, Calgary, and Fort St. John, as well as field crew site visits and employee interviews.
The auditor’s report stated that “all of those interviewed were extremely positive in their view of the company and its health and safety program. Employees felt the company valued their health, safety, and well-being. They felt that the company was providing any resources that they reasonably needed to work safely and that they were being supported with appropriate equipment, tools, and training. There was clear engagement from management and supervision to ensure the safety of personnel working in the office and the field, and a consistent improvement mindset was used to ensure that the workplace and worksites remained safe for all those engaged in work at those sites.”

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to our team’s dedication to safety practices. At Caltech, we prioritize the well-being of our employees, clients, and the community. We will continue to uphold the highest standards in health and safety,” said QHSE Director, Lee Cole. “Our journey doesn’t stop here; we are committed to continuous improvement to ensure we consistently exceed industry standards.”
Our health and safety team has analyzed the audit report and developed an action plan that summarizes the auditor’s recommendations. We will review the action plan with all employees and the auditor’s recommendations will be implemented to maintain our high standards, ensure continuous improvement, and further develop our program to keep our workplace safe for everyone.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to all our employees for their dedication and commitment to safety. If you’re in need of safe, reliable and accurate geomatics services in Western Canada, look no further than Caltech!
